First Week Home: 2/28-3/4

Things were crazy trying to get adjusted to being a new family with our precious new addition. Papa Tom and Uncle RJ were around for a few days after we got home from the hospital. Nana came over every day and cooked us meals. It was so wonderful to not have to worry about finding the time to cook let alone eat. We were so blessed. We spent the first week home going to see the doctor. The first 3 days home we had to see RB doctors. He had jaundice really bad before we left the hospital so we had to watch that. His levels kept getting higher and higher that on the 3rd day at the dr she said if the test results came back any higher we would have to look into some lights for treatment. We got a personal call from our doctor to tell us the good news that his levels were finally going back down. But the next day we had to go for a weight check and he had not been gaining any weight. I really did not want to start him on any formula but I knew we had to do what was best for him. We were put on a very strict feeding schedule...every 2 hours...and when feedings were lasting an hour it meant it was never ending feedings. In the end when we was about 2 weeks old he started gaining weight and now he is gaining like crazy. We never had to supplement with formula so mom was very happy about that!
