Papa Tom's Birthday

Well we were blessed to be able to celebrate Papa Tom’s birthday with him again this year. Since Mommy and Papa Tom’s birthdays are so close together usually we are able to celebrate together. It had been a month since Papa Tom had seen RB and of course Brutus. Brutus was beside himself when he showed up. After giving Brutus some much needed attention Papa Tom was able to hold RB. We spent the afternoon and Mommy and Daddy’s place and then that night we went over to Uncle Pat and Aunt Megan’s new house to grill out and celebrate Papa Tom’s birthday. We all had a great evening eating, watching basketball (of course), and celebrating Papa Tom’s birthday. We were able to capture a ton of great pictures from the day!

RB had rolled over a few days prior so Papa Tom was cheering him on to do it again
Brutus thought he would check out to see if he had any left over food on him

Mommy's Birthday

Mommy got to spend the whole day at home with her sweet peanut on her birthday. Nana came over after work so that Mommy could have a couple of minutes to get ready before heading out to dinner. Mommy decided she wanted to eat at Texas Roadhouse for dinner so we met the whole family there. We were a few min late to dinner which gave the family enough time to tell the server it was my birthday which is what I wanted to avoid. Dinner was great and Mommy was so blessed to be able to spend her birthday with her sweet little peanut. I never would have thought I would be celebrating my birthday with a new baby a year ago but we are so blessed and happy we have him.

This is what happens when it is your birthday at Texas Roadhouse......

Ricky Bobby and Brutus

When Brutus first met RB he didnt know what to do but lick him. He still sometimes doesnt know what to do with him. He loves when he is down on his playmat because he is able to lick his face, hands and feet. He now has to see who is holding him and check them out first. I think that when he gets a little older they are going to be best friends. For now Brutus will stick with licking his face and sleeping in the living room when he is crying at night.
For the first 3 weeks of his life Brutus and RB would have these staring contests
Whenever RB is on the floor Brutus is right next to him watching over him
They like to hang out together
And Brutus is always licking him

RB meets the boys who trained mom!

My boys that I used to nanny for came over to meet RB. They were going to come to the hospital but ended up getting sick so they waited till everyone was healthy. They were so cute with him. They had a blast holding him. Andrew (the oldest one) could not get enough of him and really did not want to give him up! These four boys gave me a run for my money when I used to watch them. They always kept me on my toes but they gave me great training for becoming a mom. There will always have a special place in my heart for them.

Playtime!

We decided when RB was about 3 weeks old that he would probably like a playmat to play on. We could tell that his vision was coming in and he has always had a ton of leg movement and loved being able to stretch out. The first few weeks he wasnt too sure about it and spent most of his time on the playmat doing tummy time. Now he can't get enough of it. He loves grabbing the toys and listening to the music. Thanks to several giftcards as gifts we were able to buy it for him.

One Month Old- March 25, 2011

RB had his One month check up. He is growing like a weed and is healthy. He weighed in at 7lbs 11oz and 21 inches long. The Dr. said he is growing and gaining weight so well that we no longer have to feed him every two hours. We are not able to feed him on command. As great as that sounds and in hopes that we might get some sleep one of these nights he has now decided to wake up every two hours to eat. I feel like his body has gotten used to eating every two hours so his little body tells him to wake up. Sleep is something in the past for us these days. I know one day it will come again...just not right now. We are just very happy we have a healthy and happy boy!

Napping with Daddy--He didnt feel very well after his shots

On a side note- I learned something very real on his one month birthday. I had needed to go to the store to pick up just a few items. He was kind of fussing but I thought I would be able to have time to run in and grab those couple of items. Right then and there in the canned fruit isle I learned very fast that life no longer was on my time...it is on RB's time. He was screaming at the top of his lungs. I had only a couple of options...ditch the cart and make a run for the door or trying to get checked out. I decided to try to get checked out. As I am trying to sooth my crying baby and get my grocery's scanned I hear a voice from behind me...it was Nana...I have never been so relieved the see someone before. She was so wonderful and went and fed him while I then finished shopping for the last couple of items. RB was happy to be able to have a little more time to spend with his Nana as well.

Baby Playdates!

Well my co-worker and I were 9 weeks apart when we were pregnant with our babies. Her baby decided to come about 2 weeks like and RB decided to come almost 3 weeks early. Now the two sweet boys are only 4 weeks apart. Her and I like to get together once a week to get the babies together and chat and catch up on life. Now Thursday have become baby date days where we get the boys together and any of the girls from work that are free also come over so that they are able to see the boys and get in a little bit of baby holding time. Simon was 9lbs when he was born and Richard was 5lbs 12oz. It has been so great to watch them change and grow together.
